Natalie Sartisson: Le Monde Qui N'Existe PasQ & A with Natalie Sartission

JS: Junior Style is showcasing a selection of your images from your latest personal project. How many images are there in your project ‘Le Monde Qui N’Existe Pas’?

NS: There are 30 exceptional works in the project and each image tells a story full of emotions and spiritual thoughts. These fictions are so mind-blowing that they are worth to be told.

JS: Where did the inspiration come from for the project?

NS: Childhood is a unique moment of imagination and sparkling fantasies. By travelling millions of magnificent worlds that are populated with their strange, yet smart and mythical creatures, the child finds harmony and opens itself to a prosperous future.

JS: Tell me a little more about the characters and the project.

NS: The characters are the truthful pioneers accompanied by their avatars. They are ready to begin an adventure of reincarnation, surrealism and transformation so surprising and unexpected. Many of the magical beings can be met in real life, but unfortunately, they remain unnoticed, for example in one of my images, a raven who’s screaming on a maple tree every morning. Then, we see a snail who’s friendly, looking at the leaves of a purple iris blooming on the ground. A black swan, floating gracefully on a pond in the park.

Sometimes, they’re trying to contact us but usually, we do not hear them, we are silent. Maybe the kid’s curiosity attracts and they are more aware of them. That is a moment of truthful friendship. Then, that’s it, the character rushes for the visible horizon by perching on the ordinary wasp that turns to the magical, flying creature.

After growing up, unreal universes move a little further away from you, but they are still remembered. These adventures with avatars become wonderful legends, but they always guide you in the course of your life.

Adults always have this child in their hearts. We dare to foresee that you can re-enter, maybe for a small hour, the fantasies of childhood where you can enjoy happiness. Finally, then this dream that is perceived as impossible would turn out possible; this world that looks fantastic would be more real, wouldn’t it?
