Q & A with Louisa Weeks Browning:
JS: What made you decide to take up Photography?
LWB: I was dissuaded from studying photography as a teen and went on to study and work in television and broadcast journalism. Many years later I find myself on a career break so I can look after my children and I have had the opportunity to explore my first love, photography. This is partially due to my children now modelling and my new exposure to the fashion world and realising my favourite style of photography, the fashion editorial.
JS: Where did you find the inspiration for Nothern Town from?
LWB: The inspiration behind this editorial, Northern Town, is that having been born in the North of England I have a huge affection for the area. I wanted to show the colours and brightness and character of Northern cities and towns expressed through the children’s vibrant and fun clothes. It was also an opportunity to marry together fashions from boutiques, designers and high street to create a fun look …I hummed Dream Academy’s ‘Life in a Northern town’ for throughout this project!
