As Vancouver Fashion Week enters its 18th year and 32nd season, it has become the fastest growing fashion week in the world, adding onto its success with the natural expansion of Vancouver Kids Fashion Week which started in September 2016.
Vancouver Kids Fashion Week (VKFW) is now in its 5th season and is dedicated to showcasing children’s fashion in a fun and creative platform which includes national and international designers. The two-day event takes place on the 22nd & 23rd of September 2018, in the heart of downtown Vancouver, during Vancouver Fashion Week which is 17th – 23rd September 2018 and features a number of runway shows each day alongside workshops.
This SS19 season’s line-up includes hand-picked childrenswear talent from Canada and around the world. Children’s clothing brands showcasing their SS19 collections are AMORIKI from Mexico, Korean brand EEPPLE and COCO AU LAIT (Spain/Mexico), along with local designers JOY & JOA. This season one of the workshops in partnership with the Vancouver Art Gallery, where attendees can experiment with natural materials and learn creative ways to ‘transform spaces, fashion, clothing and movement, with inspiration from Haruko Okano’s artwork Intersistere (2018), part of the exhibitions ‘Ayumi Got and Peter Morin: How do you carry the land?’, on view until October 28th, 2018.
