The Inspiration behind Raw Beauty:
When we compare the next generation to one of even thirty years ago, the difference is paramount. Whilst the development in technology and science continues to exceed expectations and create a modern world with capabilities that at one time would only have existed in a sci-fi movie, the emphasis on superficial beauty, cyber followers as opposed to physical friends, and the ownership of material goods overwhelms young minds.
After capturing countless beautiful faces over the years, Andrea and I realise beauty cannot be defined by one person or being. It is simply beautiful. It is this, alongside the ongoing debate of Brexit and immigration into Britain, which inspired our editorial. To be clear, Raw Beauty isn’t an attempt to broadcast our political beliefs, it’s merely a reflection of the power of cultures, races and external countries coming together. This is the new Britain, the one where a child’s skin colour is a reason to complement, not segregate them. Where Tilly could be found aged eight months in an orphanage in China, be adopted by British parents, and now shoot campaigns for prestigious British brands such as Burberry.
If there is one thing, we should be teaching our new generation it is to be unique. To stand out from the crowd and to embrace all that is different.
This is Raw Beauty.
