Seven-year-old Iyla-Mae Thomas from Nottingham, UK, moved to Marbella with her mum two years ago. In a very short time, Iyla-Mae has settled into a new school, now speaks Spanish and has launched her own fashion label Iyla-Mae.

I moved to Spain with my mummy just under 2 years ago. I was really scared of leaving my family & friends behind, but I was super brave & went to the public Spanish school in Benahavis village. My teacher didn’t speak any English but I have settled in well & now can communicate in Spanish & help my mummy to speak Spanish too.
Whilst living in Spain, my mom and I, alongside the Signature Alegre team, have created my fashion brand. My children’s and teens’ fashion label has a lot of my personality running through the custom-made styles.

What is the best part about being a model? Wearing fabulous clothes that match my personality. Meeting other models on set, that now are friends. Working with the production team & photographers. Seeing myself in magazines & on websites.
Which has been your favourite shoot to date? My favourite shoot was for my own brand IylaMae Fashion. There were four girls including myself & we had so much fun on set wearing my clothing designs. I felt really proud that the other girls loved the clothes & helped bring them to life.

Which are your favourite fashion brands? Zara as they always bring the colour. I love Monsoon as they are great for party attire & always add sequin & sparkles. Billie Blush as I love the catwalk vibe & super fun clothing to wear. Not forgetting Kate Hill as this brand is a vibe on its own.

Who is your favourite actor and actress? Alaya High ( That girl Lay Lay ), Ariana Grande – Sam & Cat and I love Lay Lay’s personality, really bubbly.
What is your favourite item in your closet? Sequin skirts from Monsoon & a Pink crop top from Zara
Do you speak any languages? I speak English & Spanish
Do you take dance classes or singing classes? I’m hoping to start dance classes in September with Isla Rose Dance academy.
If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be?
1.. A lot of friends
2.. Model for more fashion brands & catwalks
3. To rescue animals
If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be? I would like to meet That Girl Lay Lay
What is your biggest dream? My biggest dream is to sleep in my mum’s bed 7 nights a week hahahahaha
What do you like to do in your spare time? I like going to the swimming pool and making slime & play dough. Dancing & painting. Tying on my clothes & putting on makes up. Painting my nails & wearing makeup.

What led you to start your own fashion label? Iyla loves everything to do with fashion & modelling. I thought it would be a fantastic idea for Iyla to have her own brand whilst doing what she loves.
Where do you get the inspiration for your designs? We use a mix of Iyla’s favourite labels which emphasize colour, personality & overall fun clothing for children & teens to enjoy.
Where can people view the whole collection and purchase your collection? The Iyla-Mae collection can be viewed on her website & @iylamae_fashion.
What is your favourite item in your collection? The ‘Shooting Star‘ Jacket is my favourite. The gold and purple mixed with the shooting star studs can bring any outfit to life. Really stylish & fun.
Which famous young model, singer or actress would you like to see wearing your designs? It would be awesome to see Sadie Lou from Kidz Bop wearing some of my designs.
What is your 5-year plan for Iyla-Mae Fashion? What are your dreams and goals for Isla-Mae Fashion? To continue to bring Iyla-Mae’s personality out in clothing. Allowing young children & teens to feel unique & have fun with fashion. In the future, we most definitely will be introducing an accessories line & natural children’s makeup line.
