Cycling Chic

Im touslesdalesmetal

As I am sure you will not be surprised to know, I am not excatly the sporty type, however at the moment it’s hard to ignore   all things to do with cycling as the 101st Tour de France is kicking off in Leeds very soon so the city and surrounding areas are full of talk of this fabulous event!

For those of you who are not in the know (as I wasn’t until very recently!) The Tour de France is a bike race that is taken part in by 22 teams of 9 riders competing for the famous yellow jersey, the race has 21 stages covering various types of terrain over 3 weeks and a total of 3664 kilometres. The first stage starts outside Leeds Town Hall on Saturday 5th July Hall and finishes in Harrogate, the 2nd stage commences in York on Sunday 6th July and finishes in Sheffield and the final UK stage is on Monday 7th July starting in Cambridge with a spectacular finish past Buckingham Palace and onto the Mall.

So I thought it was an ideal opportunity to look at some great cycling gear for kids…

There is a great choice of cycling tops available such as this Kids short sleeve Blue and White Jersey £22.49 by Lusso a company that manufactures in Britain, also this Polaris Girl’s Spot Jersey at £24.99 and this cool Pirate one from Foska at £24.99, and I really like these camo shorts at £26.99 by Altra, all are available at (except the Lusso top which is available at )

Last but not least, for those who prefer the more traditional bike, take a look at this beautiful Sundown Town Bicycle made in England by www.vickersbycycles for Richard James Bespoke  to be on display instore to celebrate the Tour de France, at £2499.00 it is a wishlist item but nonetheless a beautiful piece of craftsmanship!
