Since having her two children Kuba and Maia, Dublin-based Anelia has been able to find a creative outlet where she could express her lifelong interest in fashion styling and photography. Be sure to keep up with Anelia and her family @anelia_a.
Indian summer is here. It’s still deliciously warm and sticky and it takes me back to the tropics I call home which we visited over the holidays recently.
What precious few weeks we got to spend with loved ones. Languorous days spent enjoying each other’s company, sharing the heartiest meals, and reconnecting after a year’s worth of being apart. The best part is watching the kids transition so smoothly into the local culture surrounded by doting extended family. It is true they say that children adapt easily!
We also took the opportunity to visit local gems. Be it history-rich architectures or the beauty of tropical nature, we were surely not short of wonderful things to explore. It’s amazing the things you take for granted when you live with it your whole life but it takes being away for a while and coming back with fresh eyes for you to realise and appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of it all.
The abundance of historical sites and scenes mesmerised us, full of stories & mementoes of days gone by. At the same time, you get to discover wondrous new things that delight and surprise you as they make places so different from what you remember as a child. It’s so heartwarming watching the kids drink it all in.
Maia was lucky enough to receive some outfits from Aussie brand Feather Drum’s latest collection ‘Botanica‘ during our holidays. Be it the light and breezy cotton/linen blend top and cullotes she wore during our visit to the Blue Mansion; or the comfiest, softest organic cotton velvet pinafore which simply defies the rule that says dresses are not for running around in the park; these elegantly playful outfits were perfect for these clammy summer days spent exploring.
