Los Angeles based children’s clothier Devon’s Drawer offers heirloom-quality clothing for boys and girls, ages 0-10 years. An antidote to fast fashion and high street trends, Devon’s Drawer is a family-run company that prizes ethical production and classic silhouettes.
Creative Director Cynthia Bennett is committed to participating in the local economy, and all production takes place in downtown L.A. “Our company is motivated to inspire parents to buy fewer—but better quality—items of clothing for their children, and to keep that clothing for generations” says Bennett.
Fabrics are organic wherever possible and sourced locally, with all wool milled in Pennsylvania’s Woolrich Mills, one of the last remaining mills in North America. Devon’s Drawer is also committed to the use of low-impact dyes for all their fabrics.
The SS17 collection Camp West, takes its inspiration from Wes Anderson’s coming-of-age film Moonrise Kingdom. Set in a coastal village in the late 1960’s, the film’s protagonists don charming prints, simple shifts, and elegantly pointed and peter pan collared shirts and dresses. Camp West, likewise incorporates delicate pom pom detailing and liberal use of ikat prints to deliver a collection as modern as it is nostalgic.
We adore the deep red floral prints and welcome the addition of stylish bomber jackets for cool Spring days and the onesies for babies come in ikat chevron prints and are a practical and elegant staple for the season. The princesses among us are sure to appreciate the understated pom pom details that adorn necklines and side seams!
