Josephine Baker was an African American entertainer, French Resistance agent and civil rights activist who is often considered to be the first black superstar.
The iconic entertainer took every opportunity and used her fame to fight racism. For Josephine, there was only one race, the Human Race. Adopting 12 children in total, Josephine created her “Rainbow Tribe” to demonstrate that people of different races could live together harmoniously.

I have this obsession with Josephine Baker. I admire everything about her character, her extraordinary courage, her character intensity, but most of all I love the vision she had so much ahead of her time. Little Addis is only seven years old; I have known her since she was five and have always been struck by her intense vibration, grace and uniqueness that are all visible as soon as the cameras are on her.
Addis was born with the IT factor that simply cannot be explained. It does not concern her beauty or how well she performs, it is something that emanates from the soul. Addis is my Josephine Baker. They share the same boldness and artistical drive that I am fascinated with.
My Josephine inspiration is soul related, it isn’t inspired by the roaring twenties or the dirty thirties, although that banana outfit was iconic! How wonderful and clever, what a woman!
