Fashionable Bambino Babies: Isossy Children launches SS14 Babies Collection
March last year, I attended the Press & Blogger Day for Isossy Children’s SS13 Collection. I was pleased to be able to attend because brand’s ethos is one dear to me: the promotion of diversity. The ideology of Amanda Rabor, founder and designer of Isossy Children, shone through in her designs.‘The label incorporates African, Asian and Western cultures to create contemporary clothing that all children can wear. The inspiration is transcending cultural barriers and opening it up for all children.’ Over the last year Isossy Children garnered much acclaim. Last October, when I found out they were running a model search for their new Babies Collection for the brand I put forward my son, Angelo. He was fortunate to be selected. He and I along with his baby sister Valentina went to the photo shoot in North West London. On our arrival and after meeting Valentina, Amanda proposed a brother and sister shot. I was delighted to oblige. Both children enjoyed the experience of being among children their age in a relaxed environment with warm nurturing adults. Recently, Isossy Children launched the SS14 Babies Collection, and I’m sure you will agree it’s one for trendsetting ‘Bambino Babies’.
Throughout Isossy Children’s SS14 Babies Collection, their signature cuts, shapes, prints and quality fabric selection has been sustained. However, a softer palette of contrasted honeyed tones was used. The elements I adore in the collection are: the delicate bows, circular fabric appliques and layered capped sleeves, which gives a 3D effect on the Anastascia and Arianna dresses; ethnic print piping detail along the trouser side-seam, jacket collar and pockets of the Biko Suit, the eye-catching print on the lapels of the Bradley Suit; a trendy feature for a dapper little boy. Other features showcased are mock epaulettes in contrasting soft colours and mock welt stitching on panelled dresses.
It’s hard to choose a favourite piece but I confess I got emotional when I saw Valentina in the Fifi Star romper. There are two other romper styles to choose from, the Fifi Star and ‘Ootsie Cutsie’. What mum wouldn’t want one of those in her daughter’s wardrobe?! Here, I present to you a selection of pieces from Isossy Children’s Babies SS14 Collection:
