Maternity Chic

fashion claregreen maternitychic6Hi there, hope everyone is well! With all this Royal Baby business I felt compelled to write a feature on maternity fashion – the stunning Duchess of Cambridge is an inspiration to so many ladies out there pregnant or otherwise so it seemed like the perfect time to have a look at what to wear while sporting a bump! As usual I have foscused on higher end and British made items, some of which can be worn post pregnancy so are well worth the investment…

Babes with Babies is a great online boutique which believes that pregnancy doesn’t mean being dowdy, they think it is eaxctly the right time to treat yourself with some luxurious yet still practical items for yourself and baby, it is an especially great place to point people in the direction of for gifts. They stock the fabulous Madderson brand which the Duchess of Cambridge has been seen in, I love this Madderson Charlotte Top in silk (above left, £180,) it is a great investment piece to be worn while pregnant and beyond and it is also designed & made in the UK.
They also have some fabulous own brand jersey pieces including a great breastfeeding range. I particulalry like the Perfect Palazzo Pants (above centre, £65,) which are great for when pregnant and also for those first few weeks when you need to be comfy, I love the on trend wide leg and also the flattering ruched waistband. They also make some really elegant nightwear which is important isn’t it Ladies as lets face it, with that newborn you spend most of your time in them! The ones shown (above right, £95,) are the Lauren Perfect Pyjamas which are cut low to flatter a larger bust and have a long top to cover the bump (or wobbly bits after!) and are also great for breastfeeding in. Isabella Oliver have been the go to brand for maternity fashion for the last 10 years with their innovative way of using ruched jersey to flatter the pregnant female form, over the years they developed and added more styles which are always bang on trend. I would totally be lusting after this Rosliston Maternity Jumpsuit if I was pregnant (above left, £109 – as worn by Kourtney Kardashian,) with the jogger style waist and pants I am sure this is one that could be worn post baby too! The Argyle Maternity Dress (above centre, Dark Grey Melange, £109,) is the perfect dress to take you through your pregnancy looking great dressed down with pumps or dressed up with statement jewellery and heels. The Zadie Stretch Maternity Skinny Jeans (above right, £95) have great reviews on the website and are available in perfect for Summer white or more traditional black or indigo. I am a big fan of their increasingly popular sister range Baukjen and have always found their jersey pieces to be of great quality, all available at www.isabellaoliver.com

Tiffany Rose are well known for their occaisonwear dresses having dressed such celebrities as Holly Willoughby, Chelsea Clinton, Kimberley Walsh and Claire Sweeney to name but a few and best of all their entire range is designed and made in the UK. I think this beautiful Anastasia Gown in Poppy (above left, £189) would be perfect for a summer wedding or race event, it is also available in plain colours including Ivory and Gold Dust which would make it a beautiful wedding dress, there is also the option of customising it with a sash (for an extra charge.) The Jewel Block Dress in Eclipse (above, centre £89,) is a stunning dress which could cover all sorts of occaisons from dinner out to a wedding so is a great versatile option at a great price ( also available in Biscay Blue & Coffee Bean.) They also do a Bridal range, I absolutely adore the Verona Gown (above right, £199,) and they also have some other wonderful options, if you have any special events planned this Summer this is the place to go!
