Yvadney Davis – Papu Mummy And Mini Style Squad

In my work as a Kids Fashion Stylist I come across so many pieces I wish were available in mummy size.  There are far fewer limitations in kidswear design which therefore means collections are more playful, directional and bold. It’s so exciting to see so many kid’s brands venturing into adult collections with mummy and mini ranges and one of my favourite brands to do this is Papu.

Papu is a cool, unisex and contemporary Finnish kids’ brand. It focuses on creating high-quality collections that use sustainable organic soft natural fabrics, charming prints and unique colour palettes. Each season is inspired by a Papu-created story, a collaboration between fashion designer Anna Kurkela and illustrator Hanna-Riikka Heikkila. The Spring Summer story, titled ‘The Dream’, plays with typography prints, painterly geometric shapes and nature.

My kids love playing in their stretchy Papu separates, rocking printed tracksuits, linen tanks and comfy rompers. All available from 0-8 years old, they are simple with clever details, including patches, hidden pockets and roll down hems, which are great for growing into! There’s something so Scandi-cool about Papu clothes, the slightly dropped crotches, on trend bomber jackets and innovative geometric silhouettes, which works well with my kids’ city fashion style.

Even better is the capsule edit of Papu mummy pieces. These are equally soft and punchy separates, which means I feel comfortable but effortlessly stylish in them. The head-turning ‘Dream’ typography print never fails to generate compliments. Above all, rather than upsizing the kids’ versions, the adult styles are inspired by, so while similar, less twinning and more style squad!
