This month’s trend focuses on the party wear season as we are fast approaching Christmas with only four weeks to go – don’t panic! We are shopping around for stocking fillers and getting prepared for the Christmas festivities ahead.
You will find exciting styles emerging on the high street and within luxury brands for girls and boys this season, including velvet jackets, glitter dresses and monochrome stripes, which always look chic dressed up for those special occasions and family gatherings. Glitter dresses have a Bohemian 30’s edge emerging with sequins and dropped hems with deep rich colours of luscious plums, deep red and forest greens, which brings an opulent edge this season in childrenswear, indicating a more grown up and sophisticated direction.

Zara Kids wear never disappoint when it comes to the party wear season. The designs are effortlessly stylish and affordable. The Zara Kids 1930s sequin dropped hem dress is effortless. Accessorised with a sequin bandeaux, the dress is perfect for Christmas festivities.
Velvet Crush – Men always look smart in a well-fitted, tailored suit. (Below)
For AW18 we see velvet emerging strongly within various product categories. The velvet smokers’ jacket is fabulous for the Christmas period, as it brings grown-up opulence to childrenswear, taking style direction from Savile Row tailoring. Velvet jackets are easily paired with a basic T-shirt and Adidas Stan Smith trainers for a dressed down approach to styling.
The Stripes – Stripes of Honour.
Colour blocked and Monochrome Shirts always make a statement, as they are timeless and chic. These are a “must have” in your child’s wardrobe, so it’s important to buy well so you can hand them down as fashion always revolves. This can be worn with your core basics.
Twinning – Two’s Company.
Metallic lurex and sequins are a must for the season’s festivities, giving a touch of glam. Ruffle sleeves and pleats have been a continuation from summer that we see filtering down into occasion wear for the party season.
