For AW18, we see fashion taking reference from technology as our reality is becoming more intrinsically woven with technology in our society. The Trend Dark Matta focuses on outer space and how humanity has a common interest with the unknown, science fiction and escapism.
Space Odyssey – Textured Materials (Above image).
The fabrics for this trend need to be functional and casual. There is a focus on metallic fibres, jacquards and brocades. However, sculptural details play a reference to alien life forms. This playful trend is good for the holiday and partywear season.
Neon Lights – Beacons In The Darkness (Above).
This trend has a pop of colour that makes you stand out from the crowd which is perfect for the party wear season for fall18. The trend is reminiscent of the 90s and adds flare to the product with reflective surfaces and glossy finishes.
Galactic – Space Circus.
This trend is defined by the traditional nature of the circus, with a twist of outer space thrown into the mix. This makes the trend playful by adding metallic ruffles and outer space graphics to garments.
Nights Dream – Reflective Materials.
This trend embodies an oily, metallic and glossy sheen to garments whether it’s in outerwear, tops or separates. It provides a sleek look to styles when layering for the winter and adds a little drama to your child’s wardrobe.
