Cotton Sparrow is a small cotton based collection of girls clothing that does not adhere to trends, but rather dictates it.
Designed for 2-8 year olds, the new SS15 collection is named after the fabric ‘Calico’ and offers modern designs with a twist.

Cotton Sparrow is designed by Kate Sloan who lives in Jersey, the Channel Islands. Living in Jersey and being a fashion designer has mean’t that sourcing fabrics has not been that easy and therefore being limited to certian fabrics in a way has helped Kate as she has therefore had to hone in to her creativity and design skills more than others, as she does not have the selection of fabric’s to play around with and therefore has had to be more creative.
Kate studied fashion design at Southampton where she achieved a BA (HONS) but she did not immediately go into designing children’s wear. After having her first daughter, Kate began making clothing and has been inspired ever since by her two girls.
It is very important to Kate the the desgins are easy to wear and comfortable for the child to play in. The clothing designs are simple, stylish but with a contemporary feel.
The new collection ‘Calico’ uses greys, black and cream colours, though there is a lovely pair of yellow shorts in the Calico collection!
