Key trends for the season for girl’s footwear has been filtered down from the women’s wear market making this interesting and versatile for SS19.
Key aspects of design are taken from vintage and youth market with inspiring shapes from sneaker styles and clog sandals. Loafers go for a minimal approach and ruffles offer a new dynamic to sandals.
SS19 Trend – Clog Style: Clogs are inspired by a vintage throwback. Buckle closures are replaced by Ghillie lacing and corded laces with bright tassels this gives a sporty and revived edge to a vintage classic.SS19 Trend – The Loafer: This trend of slip-on loafers has trickled down from women’s wear that offers a unique style and a key essential for any girl’s wardrobe for SS19. Different fabric variations can be paired with any trend that offers a cool and comfortable look for the season. The minimal detail creates a new silhouette with high – cut top lines and pointy toe shapes.
SS19 Trend – The Slingback: The slingback sandal has been filtered down from womenswear and has harnessed the fashion but comfort approach, of incorporating athleisure to the style and design. Spongy soles are paired with plastic uppers that are embellished with knit lurex contrasts.
SS19 Footwear Trend – Thick Soled: The thick-soled sneakers have been carried over from the youth trend for girlswear which will be a key statement for SS19 footwear. Style trends to accompany this statement piece of footwear will be oversize trousers accompanied with wide laces on the sneakers. Prints and metallic designs can make exaggerated and conversational details for this trend.
