Kodomo is Stepping up Kids’ Fashion in Boston

As former Bostonians, we are highly anticipating the launch of new children’s boutique, kodomo. Kodomo, (the Japanese word for child ), aims to provide a thoughtfully curated selection of apparel that will satisfy little one’s desire for soft pants, twirling skirts, and maybe a superhero motif as well as their parents’ discerning tastes for latest fashions, all ethically produced.

The new boutique is set to open right in the heart of of Boston’s historic South End section. Featuring an eclectic range of designers from around the globe, kodomo will showcase soft fabrics from Spain, fair-trade alpaca knits from Peru, colourful prints illustrated in Denmark, and light layers made in LA.

The common thread underlying the designer selections is this: local inclinations.  Kodomo selects brands that are the antithesis of fast fashion—labels working to keep design and production as close to home as possible. Each independent designer represented at kodomo sources materials in a conscious manner and operates thoughtfully and with honest intentions.
