TiA CiBANi KiDS: Easy elegance for the global aesthete

Tia Cibani SS16 collection

The SS16 collection from TiA CiBANi KiDS is for the eyes what a Peter Gabriel record is for the ears—exotic and eclectic, yet beautiful and familiar all at once.

While the collection gives a nod to the white monochromatic looks inspired by the Brazilian Bahia that we also see in the designer’s SS16 womenswear line, TiA CiBANi KiDS casts of much wider net of cultural reference points.

The signature Penrose print found in dresses, tops and skirts, suggests the tiled mosaics of a Moroccan palace and incorporates the four rich colours of the collection’s primary palette—Nile blue, turmeric, harissa, and ecru.

Chic rompers and bermuda shorts in micro checks and stripes juxtapose Western silhouettes with pattern and color inspired by the Masai people of Kenya and Tanzania.

Apparel is complemented by a beautifully tactile range of jewellery and hair accessories made from antique African beads, linen ropes, and grosgrain ribbon.

In spite of the sophisticated interplay of patterns and texture, the collection retains Cibani’s signature ease and casual elegance. TiA CiBANi KiDS very much reflects the cosmopolitan perspective of the erudite urban dweller—this is design for the young global citizen of the world.

The Spring collection is now available at exclusive boutiques around the world and online. For full list of international stockists, visit TiA CiBANi KiDS.
