Celtic Sheepskin boots have been a longtime favourite of mine (we were very kindly allowed to borrow them for our last AW winter shoot – the kids loved them and didn’t want to take them off!) I have owned a pair for a few years now and they are so comfy and such fantastic quality and the ones without the fur trim are even machine washable which is perfect for kids! The company makes them all from 100% sheepskin in Cornwall so they are a truely great British product.
They have a kids range which are cater for boys and girls in sizes 5-6 up to 13-1 (the classic styles are unisex) and if you buy slightly bigger they should last, pictured above are the Mini Toscana Boots (main pic) at £65.00, top right are the Mini Celt Boots which come in a range of colours, but I love this Aubergine pair at £55.00, middle right are the Mini Shortie Boots £50.00 and I also love the cute little purses at £14.00 they are a great present.
Monkey and Mole are a new discovery and I wish they had been around when mine were younger. These lovely shoes for newborn to 3-4 yrs are handmade in Warwickshire using a German environmentally friendly leather which is tanned with pure vegetable substances, the shoes are soft soled but are suitable for outdoor use in fine weather, they can be made with or without a sheepskin lining depending on the season. There are various options available in plain leather, suede, printed and beaded options and also various colours, my favourite for the coming season are pictred above. Top row is the Indian Summer High Top Moccasins £37.50, bottom left is the Rust Suede Moccasins £35.00, bottom right Stone Grey Suede Edge Moccains £35.00 and I totally love the Leather Feather Hairdand which is £5.00.
Papouelli make shoes like I would make if I were a shoe designer, their range is super stylish without being boring. The company is run by 3 mums who all have a united passion for shoes, the shoe sizes run from a tiny 16 through to 38-45 for older children (sizes vary on the styles so please check the website.) They have also recently introduced a small clothing collection for children, I can’t wait to see more! My favourites are pictured above, I love all the metallics that have been around recently but the Tasie (from£69.00, main pic) in Raspberry Shimmer Metallic Leather with a silver piped trim is a stunning option that doesn’t look too futuristic. The Dot ankle boots (from £69.00, bottom left) in grey or taupe suede are divine as are the Pandora (middle bottom) taller style boots with a beautiful hole punch detail. For the boys I am really digging the Carlo Chelsea Boot (from £59.00, bottom right) with the red elasticated sides and also the Blaxter Chelsea boot (from £79.00) in two funky colourways. They also make socks and tights in a cotton/lycra rib in a multitude of plain colours, perfect to go with the shoes & boots.
Young Soles are a hip new shoe brand with a ‘retro-cool’ feel, they make quality shoes with an edge – designed in East London and made in Portugal from the finest quality materials they look like a brand that will be around for some time to come. My pick of their range is the Vera Chelsea Boot in Chestnut Brown, top right (from £74.00) Hattie Monkey Boot in Navy or Chestnut with Liberty print cotton laces, middle (from £78.00) and the Hugo Monkey Boot in Cherry or Navy, bottom right (Black is available but currently sold out on their website) from £67.00.
Good luck with your autumn boot hunting and if you do find any other great brands please do share!
