Good morning good morning good morning! I hope that you have all had a fabulous start to the day and are ready for what is going to be an exciting week!
I feel like spring has arrived! The warmer weather is becoming more of a regular thing and the hours of daylight have increased which I absolutely LOVE! It’s all pretty crazy at the Circus at the moment as we prepare for up and coming events, the signing of new clients and our AW15 press day in April! Whirlwind is an understatement! It’s all very exciting but I feel like time is running faster than ever!
This week on CCT I have one of the biggest dolls from across the pond joining me! She’s been named as the new “IT” girl in the celebrity styling world, so I am so excited to be joined by the one and only Ali Levine who we have worked very closely with at the Circus! Ali has styled mini TV personality Asia Monet Ray in brands we represent, such as Soft Gallery, Livly and most recently Scotch R’belle which Asia wore to the mother freaking Oscars! Ali is extremely talented and I am so honoured to have her joining us today! So, please join me in welcoming to wonderful Ali on today show!!
Ali my doll as you would say, thank you so much for joining us today! I know how busy you are so thank you so much for taking the time to speak with you! So, let’s start off by you telling us a little bit about yourself…
Good morning dolls! My name is Ali and I was born and raised in New York! I have a HUGE love for fashion which stemmed from my city unbringing and iconic grandmother who had incredible style!
After completing college with a fashion merchandising and management degree, my career jumpstarted when I accepted a position with Target. It was major responsibility as it involved opening a flagship NY store and working with international designers. I was designing for industry big names like Fragments, Coach and Talbots. Once I achieved in-house fashion experience, I made a rapid transition to television and film. This shift eventually led to a move to Hollywood, where my ‘Ali Levine Design’ firm is currently headquartered. My experience led to jobs on Mercy and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, where I had the opportunity to work with Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan which was extremely exciting!
Since relocating to Los Angeles, my work can be seen on Fran Drescher’s Happily Divorced, In Time with Justin Timberlake, Kanye West’s World Throne Tour, X-Men First Class, New Girl and much more.
Oh my gosh Ali you have worked on so many exciting projects! Who are some of the individuals/celebs you have worked with?
I am really lucky to have worked/be working with such fabulous people! I’ve worked with individuals such as Jesse McCartney, Lauren Bowles, Arianny Celeste, Brooklyn Jai on the hottest Hollywood red carpet events and Asia Monet Ray. I won’t bore you with the list but they have all been amazing!

What about media titles etc?
I work with incredible publications such as EnVie, Vogue Italia, Glamoholic etc to name a few as well as independent films, advertisement campaigns etc! I love being able to work on so many different projects as well as with incredible individuals! Their support is unbelievable!
Editorial work by Ali Levine.
What is your ultimate styling tip?
Dial up your look! Don’t try to be a trend, figure out how it works for you and “dials” up your look!
What made you decide to go in to Fashion/Styling?
I didn’t know I wanted styling, after many years in retail, product development and design, I realized I wanted the creativity of design but not in a corporate setting.
After assisting on many movies and TV shows, I realized, I loved the element of fashion and costume in the entertainment industry and eventually fell into styling.
You’ve styled so many individuals but who is your style icon?
Oh this is a tough one as I feel I have a few. I think Coco Chanel is definitely one of mine. A more recent one would be Cara Delevingne. She has classic, perfection in every way.
I am so with you on that one! I love Miss Cara! She is absolutely gorgeous! I think I fall in love with every campaign that she does! She definitely ‘werks it!’ What projects are you working on atm/have you got coming up?
I just wrapped out the mania of awards season especially Oscars. I had many clients for that! One being actress Caitlin O’Connor on a recent episode of Two and a Half Men, she attend Night of 100 stars one of the biggest events for the Oscars and of the year! As well as kid actress and artist, Asia Monet Ray for some of the biggest Pre Oscar events!

Wow you’re a busy lady! We love the things you have styled Asia in and are so appreciative to you for using our brands! That then leads me to ask…what are you favourite childrenswear brands?
Oh, I have so many childrenswear brands I love! Especially now that I style with them for many clients.
Ralph Lauren, Scotch R Belle, (Scotch and Soda), Dior, Gap, Little Remix and many more! I love how kid fashion has become so trendy and so much fun!

I know it’s insane isn’t it? My eyes have definitely been opened since working in the children’s fashion industry! There’s still so much more to come from children’s fashion which is so exciting!! Watch out adultswear fashion week – the kiddies are coming!
And last but not least – what do you do for you?
When I’m not working, I continue to exercise my devotion to my field by scouring the hottest trends all over Los Angeles and New York. It never stops but that’s what I love!! I can honestly say that I have ‘the best job in the world.’
That’s the nicest thing to hear! Ali – thank you so much for joining me and the CCT readers on today’s show I am so appreciative! It’s been geat having you and hearing all about your exciting projects coming up! Keep me updated on all and I can’t wait to continue working with you!
