Take a walk with Sophie in the meadow, take a peek at a secret garden, listen to the wind blowing through trees – when nature is a canvas and little girl becomes an inspiration – almost a watercolour, always a story.
‘In the meadow-grass
The innocent white daisies blow,
The dandelion plume doth pass
Vaguely to and fro, –
The unquiet spirit of a flower
That hath too brief an hour.
– Ellen Mackay Hutchinson de Cortissoz [1851-1933]
Pero – Inspired by the aesthetic of Péro – which means ‘to wear’ in Marwari, the local language of Rajasthan, a state in the northwest of India that uses local material and skills and takes inspiration from what surrounds us, to make a product that connects with people, wherever in the world it is placed.
Its textile process, where materials pass through the hands of one craftsperson to the other, carry forward the Indian tradition of the handmade and creating pieces that are at once unique.
